Welcome to IMS 2022
In education, research and innovation today, we often hear about "interdisciplinary", which is defined as viewing the same object from the viewpoint of different disciplines. The interdisciplinary approach is being strongly promoted by nanotechnology because studies in the nanotechnology field request not only material science but also physics, chemistry, and mechanics. The interdisciplinary in material science can also open new fields such as biophysics, physics of energy, etc. In Japan, Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences (FRIS), Tohoku University, is one of the leading educational institutions in interdisciplinary research. In which more than 50 young scientists in FRIS are actively working. This summer meeting on the interdisciplinary material science will connect the scientists from Tohoku University and Vietnam from different fields. We also discuss both experimental and theoretical topics, from materials to physics, chemistry, and mechanics. Such an interdisciplinary discussion will foster new research collaborations among the participating scientists.
